Context
Despite reductions in maternal mortality (189 deaths per 100,000 live births), reliance on TBAs persists, undermining progress toward the SDG target of 70 deaths per 100,000. Enforcement of the ban on TBAs has been ineffective, and mothers continue to seek their services. Understanding the dynamics of TBA service provision and utilization is critical for designing culturally sensitive, evidence-based interventions.
